With its great taste and second-to-none versatility, you can’t go wrong with pork on the grill – especially now that the USDA has lowered pork cooking temperature guidelines to 145 degrees Fahrenheit, followed by a three-minute rest time – resulting in a juicier, tender, medium-rare grilled masterpiece.
To help ignite your inspiration, the National Pork Board and Guy Fieri are excited to offer a “Summer Grilling Essentials” prize pack to giveaway to one lucky visitor of our BBQ Addicts community. The lucky winner will be hooked up with everything you need to kick your outdoor cooking into high gear for the second half of the summer grilling season.

Issuing a proclamation of “monumental flavor” is a tall order for any product to live up to. Only a brand hailing from our nation’s capital that’s been produced and distributed by ex-politicians would issue such a promise to the citizens of the United States. Luckily these politicians are originally from Missouri, so they’ve got a true barbecue agenda that can’t be swayed by lobbyist kickbacks or political bribery. We’ve been sampling their products for a few weeks now, and we can confidently confirm that you can take these politicians for their word with their Pork Barrel BBQ products!

With spring in full gear, and summer coming fast, your grilling season should already be well underway. At this point the only valid excuse for not partaking in your first outdoor cook of the season is because you simply don’t own a grill or smoker. Lucky for you, Sam’s Club has stepped up and given us a grill to give away to one lucky backyard chef. Consider it a free jump-start to get your summer barbecue back on track!

It’s no secret that our blog has been awkwardly quiet for the last couple of months. It pained us to do so, but we took some time off from writing on the internet to spend some extra time fine-tuning our upcoming book. Yes, that’s right…the cookbook that made headlines on Entertainment Weekly has been officially sent to the printers! We’ll keep you posted on all the smoky details as we get closer to the release of BBQ Makes Everything Better, but in the meantime we’re celebrating our return to the blogosphere the only way we know how….with FREE BACON!!!

The last Saturday before Labor Day is almost upon us, which means we’re getting close to the porkiest holiday the world has to offer. For those not in the know, I’m talking about International Bacon Day. It’s the one day a year that the citizens of Earth put aside their differences and bask in the glory of the world’s most perfect food. Okay, so maybe it’s not quite to that level yet, but you can certainly do your part by partaking in a bacon feast…and score some free bacon schwag for doing so!!!

Perhaps the most eloquent description of the 4th of July was delivered by Apu from The Simpsons when he muttered to Homer: “What better way to celebrate the birth of your country then by blowing up a small piece of it!” It just so happens that I agree with Apu, but he failed to mention to the other two ingredients for successful 4th…barbecue and booze. We’d love to be able to ship you a case of Bakon Vodka and artillery shells, but Federal regulations prevail. Instead, we’re hooking you up with some barbecue related freebies, courtesy of Sara Lee, to make sure your Independence Day meat feast goes off with a bang!
